Legal information
Terms and conditions
The rules for using CalSnap, and the terms of the subscription. The license for the app itself is Apple’s standard end-user license agreement.

This is a translation. The French version is the reference text and prevails if the two ever differ.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the CalSnap mobile app and of the subscription that gives access to it. Downloading or using the app means you accept these terms.
The license to use the app itself is governed by Apple’s standard end-user license agreement, referenced on the App Store listing. These terms add to it; they don’t replace it or contradict it.
2. The publisher
CalSnap is published by Ilan Chelly, Sole proprietor (osek patur), registered in Israel under no. 323728451, Har Shokef 1, Kefar Sava 4425000, Israel. Contact: support@calsnap.fr. Full details are in the legal notice.
3. What the app does
CalSnap identifies the foods in a photo of a meal, estimates their quantities, and calculates the matching nutrition values from public food composition tables. It stores these meals, your weight and your goals on your device.
The values shown are estimates. They’re based on identifying foods from an image and on average composition tables, not on a measurement of what you actually ate. An estimate can differ significantly from reality, especially for mixed dishes, sauces, added fats and unusual portions.
4. What the app is not
CalSnap is a food tracking tool. It helps you log what you eat and compare it with a goal you set.
It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t give medical advice. The values shown are estimates: they come from identifying foods in a photo and from public food composition tables, not from measuring what you actually ate.
Before making lasting changes to what you eat, talk to a doctor or a dietitian, especially if you’re under a doctor’s care, pregnant or under 18.
CalSnap doesn’t replace a healthcare professional or a dietitian. You alone are responsible for the decisions you make about what you eat.
5. Access and compatibility
The app requires a compatible device, a supported version of the operating system, and an internet connection to analyze photos. Browsing your history works offline. We don’t guarantee that the app will work without interruption or error.
6. Subscription
Plans and prices
CalSnap offers yearly, monthly and weekly subscriptions with the same features. The price shown in the App Store, in your currency, applies.
Free trial
Eligible accounts receive a 7-day trial on the yearly plan or a 3-day trial on the monthly plan. The weekly plan has no free trial. A separate promotional yearly offer may include a 14-day trial. The applicable price, trial and renewal terms appear before confirmation; Apple determines trial eligibility.
Billing and renewal
The subscription is purchased, billed and managed through Apple’s App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of the free trial. The subscription renews automatically for the same length of time unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time in your Apple account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: you keep access until then. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel the subscription.
If you cancel during the free trial, you aren’t charged anything, as long as you do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Refunds
Apple is the seller of the subscription, so refund requests go directly to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have neither the technical means nor the authority to refund a purchase on your behalf, but write to us if something went wrong: we can often help in other ways.
Right of withdrawal
Because this is digital content supplied immediately, the service starts as soon as you subscribe, with your express consent, which means you waive the fourteen-day right of withdrawal provided for by the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation). The free trial is there precisely so you can try the app without commitment.
Changing platforms
A subscription taken out on iOS can’t be transferred to Android, or the other way round. Because the app doesn’t create an account, there’s no way to link a purchase to a person from one store to the other. That’s an accepted consequence of the choice not to ask anyone to sign up.
Restoring a purchase
If you reinstall the app or change devices within the same ecosystem, the “Restore purchases” button restores your subscription from your Apple account.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- get around the app’s technical limits or its subscription system;
- use the app or its analysis service in an automated or large-scale way, or for anything other than its intended use;
- decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law allows it;
- send unlawful images to the analysis service.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its interface, its text and its graphics are protected. You get a personal, non-exclusive right to use it for the length of your subscription, with no transfer of ownership.
The nutrition data comes from public sources cited in the app and remains subject to their own licenses: ANSES’s Ciqual table and Open Food Facts. Your photos and your data remain yours; we claim no rights over them and hold no copy of them.
9. Liability
The app is provided as is. We can’t be held liable for an inaccurate nutrition estimate, a decision about what you eat based on the information shown, an interruption of the service, or the loss of data because your device wasn’t backed up.
None of these limitations is intended to exclude the mandatory legal guarantees you have as a consumer, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.
10. Personal data
How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. If there’s a significant change, in particular to prices, you’ll be told in the app before it takes effect, and you’ll be able to cancel before it applies.
12. Governing law and disputes
As a consumer living in the European Union, you keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim before the courts of that country.
Before taking any action, write to us: most problems are solved by email. If the disagreement is about the payment itself, Apple is the seller and handles refund requests (see section 6).
You won’t find a link here to the European online dispute resolution platform: it stopped operating on July 20, 2025, after the regulation that created it was repealed.
